DAKENS, Robert Basil - It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing away of Robert B. Dakens (age 88) Sunday January 11, 2209 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Elliot Lake. Beloved husband of the late Annie Dakens, loving father of Helen (Don) Bartlett, Leslie (Marijane), Ann Lizotte and the late Robert Dakens Jr.. Loving friend of Carol Ann Latendresse, Robert is survived by his sister Dorothy “Dolly“ Gillis of Stellerton, Nova Scotia. Cherished grandfather, great grand father and uncle to many. A longtime resident of our community and a retiree of Rio Algom, Bob will truly be missed by numerous friends and relatives. Friends may call Thursday January 15th, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. till Legion service at noon at the Royal Canadian Legion in Elliot Lake.
