ELLA SOPHIA BAKER (nee Prues) At the Henderson Hospital, Hamilton on Monday, January 19, 2009, Ella Sophia Baker (nee Prues) of Stoney Creek, in her 94th year. Beloved wife of the late Irvine C. Baker (1978). Ella was Stoney Creek Citizen of the Year in 1973, volunteer driver for the Canadian Cancer Society for over 25 years, organized the Stoney Creek Santa Claus Parade for many years and was a founding member of Grace Lutheran Church, Hamilton. Survived by sisters Viola Bluhm of Hanover, Matilda Bluhm of Chesley, Leone Ritchie of Walkerton, sister-in-law Grace Prues of Walkerton and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Eric and Otto, sisters Erna and Meta, parents John and Bertha Prues. Friends and family were received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Dr., Stoney Creek. Funeral Service was held in the chapel on Friday, January 23, 2009. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
