CHURCHILL, Joseph Ronald (Retired Captain, RCAF, DFM, CD) Member of the RAF Squadron 578. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Joseph Ronald (Ron) Churchill, on Thursday, January 29, 2009 at Trenton Memorial Hospital. Ron is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years Jean Lorimer Churchill (Burns), son Brian (Jan Evans) of Toronto, and daughters Donna (Fred Rumble) of Vancouver, Sheila (Russ Findlay) of Chicago and Sandra (Al Keddy) of Ottawa. A loving grandpa of 15 and great-grandpa of 17. He was a dear brother of Blanche Brady, Wilma Scott Peckett and Jack Churchill (Bev) and the late Doris Rathwell Condie. A Veteran's Memorial Service will be held at the “413 Wing“ Air Force Association of Canada, 320 North Murray Rd., Trenton on Tuesday, February 3rd at 3 p.m. Padre Sid Horne officiating. It was Ron's preference that any memorial donations are made to his favorite charities: the “Poppy Fund“, c/o The Royal Canadian Legion, Br.110 or the “Halifax Restoration Project“ National Airforce Museum, 8 Wing, Trenton.
