RAWLINGS, Charles (Bud) Harry - 74, of Slaughters, Kentucky, formally of Crown Point, Indiana, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 29, at 6:51 p.m. at his home. He was born on October 26, 1934, in Northumberland County, Cobourg, Ontario, Canada, to parents, George and Annie Rawlings of Orton, Waterville, England, and Full Sutton, Yorkshire, England. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rhonda Ramsey Rawlings also of Slaughters, Ky. He has 3 surviving children, Michael Jon and wife, Cathy (Nelson) Rawlings, of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and children, Nathan and Emma Cate, daughter, Tammy and husband, Joe Parker, and children, Zach, Morgan and Andrew Charles of Newburgh, Indiana, son, Charles Allen and wife, Patty (Foyer) Rawlings, and children, Allen and Anna of Hebron, Indiana; brother, G. Allen Rawlings and daughters, Jane and Anne; sister, Anne Skitch and sons, Barry and Charles; sister-in-law, Bess Rawlings and sons, Ian and Jim, all of Canada. Also, a sister-in-law, Joni Hoesli and sons, Jeremy of Evansville, Indiana, and Jason Hoesli of St. Louis, Missouri; brother-in-law, Terry Ramsey and wife, Peggy, and children, Terri Ann and John, all of Evansville, and Bruce Ramsey of Slaughters, Kentucky. Also, longtime and close friend, Jane Owens of New Harmony, Indiana. He was preceded in death by parents, Annie and George Rawlings, along with his brother, Fred, and nephew, Tim Ramsey. Charles graduated from New Harmony High School in 1954. He was a graduate of Indiana University where he earned his bachelor's degree in Physical Education and Earth Science and his master's degree in Health Education. He taught public school for 37 years and was an adjunct faculty member at IU Northwest for over 20 years. He also taught a correspondence course for Indiana University, Bloomington. He was past president of the IU Bloomington Chapter of HYPER. He was a member of Onton United Methodist Church and the Bailey-Onton Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed his Racing Pigeon membership and was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs. A service will be scheduled at a later date. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Tomlinson Funeral Home Sebree Chapel in Sebree, Kentucky.
