BABINEAU, ELAINE BARBARA - It is with great sadness, the family of Elaine Barbara Babineau announces her passing on Monday, November 15, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by her family and friends. Born in Saint John, daughter of the late Willard and Annie (Jones) Gill. Devoted and loving wife and mother to Ron and Michael. Elaine was an avid quilter, and belonged to the K.V. Quilters Guild and the Fairvale Outing Association Quilters. She was also a bowler and bowled for many years with the Schoolboard League. She also was a member of the Friday Night Fun League and the K.V. Seniors Wednesday Group. Elaine was also a faithful part of Rhoda's Flea Market on Sundays at the door for over ten years. Her kindheartedness led to a multitude of adopted creatures in the backyard as well as into her home. She was a caregiver by nature and will always be remembered by her family and friends for her warmth and compassion. Surviving in addition to her husband Ron and son Mike are her brothers Arlington "Bud" and Merville (Gertrude), sisters Hilda Mills, Geraldine Driscoll, Doreen (Rick) Boyer, Judy (Robert) Jackson, all of the Saint John area, as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Resting at Castle "Kings Chapel" Funeral Home, 154 Old Hampton Road, (849-1702) with visitation on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, November 18, 2004 at 12 noon from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Rothesay. Cremation to follow with private family interment at a later date. Donations in Elaine's memory to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
