Kristin Jeanne ALLARD

Kristin J. Vollmers, 34, Minneapolis, MN formerly of Grand Forks, ND died Wednesday, January 5, 2005 of natural causes at home. Kristin Jeanne Allard was born March 5, 1970, the daughter of Roger ""Max' and Karen (LeBlanc) Allard in Grand Forks, ND. She attended Grand Forks schools and graduated from Red River High School in 1988. She received her B.A. summa cum laude from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks. While in college, Kristin was an active member in the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. After graduating, she was worked in Congressman Byron Dorgan's Office and as a legal secretary in Washington DC. She returned to Minneapolis and earned her J.D. cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1997. She married Todd R. Vollmers on September 12, 1998 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Grand Forks. The moved to Washington D.C. in January 1999 where she was hired by the law firm of Green, Stewart, Farber & Anderson, which then merged with the firm of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld. In 2004 she was hired by the firm of Latham & Watkins. Kristin and her family had just moved from the Washington DC area to Minneapolis to be closer to relatives. She was beginning her present position on the legal staff at Medtronic Inc., Minneapolis, MN. Kristin was loved by many people, as a wife and mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She lived life joyfully and touched countless numbers of people with her kind and loving spirit. She especially enjoyed spending time with her husband and sons, and trips home to Grand Forks to be with her parents, sister and relatives. She loved being a mother and was devoted to her sons. Kristin is survived by her husband, Todd and sons, John and Joseph, Minneapolis, MN; her mother, Karen Allard and a sister, Katherine Allard both of Grand Forks, ND. She was preceded in death by her father, ""Max'; maternal grandparents, Jeanne & Amie LeBlanc; paternal grandparents, Alice & George Allard and an aunt Connie Allard Leinhauser. Mass of Christian Burial: 1:00 p.m. Tuesday in Holy Family Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Monday with a 7:00 p.m. vigil service and a 4:30 p.m. rosary service in Gregory J. Norman - Norman Funeral Home, So. Washington St., and one hour before the liturgy in the church on Tuesday. Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
