Joan Alvarado Beauregard, born in Ontario, California on June 30, 1918 died Sunday, July 10, 2005 after a lengthy illness. Joan was preceded in death by her husband of nearly fifty years, Darwin Beauregard, who died in 1991. Joan is survived by her sister, Estelle Brierton of Buelton, CA and her sister's children, Marguerite Nelson, Bob Brierton, Chuck Brierton and their families, which include many grand-nie ces and nephews. Joan is also survived by many cousins and friends whom she loved dearly. During her lifetime, Joan enjoyed traveling and went to Spain on two occasions, fulfilling a dream she had always had of visiting her ancestral country. She also visited Japan with her husband on business and was able to spend six weeks in that country. Upon their return to the States, Joan and Darwin spent several days in Hawaii resting up before returning to work. Joan was past president of Pomona Valley Art Asso ciation and Associated Artists of the Inland Empire. In 1994, she and a group of friends started gathering at her home for a Creative Writing Class every Tuesday afternoon until the time of her death. Graveside services are planned for Monday, August 1, 2005 at 3 p.m. at Bellevue Memorial Park in Ontario. In lieu of flowers, please donate to VNA & Hospice of Southern California, 150 W. First St., Claremont, CA 91711. The doctors, nurses and other support staff from Hospice made life bearable and even happ y for Joan over the past couple of years.
