Laurent J. ANTAYA

Antaya, Laurent J., “Larry”, 77, of Manville Hill Road, Cumberland, died Thursday, September 29, 2005 in Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, St. Joseph Unit, North Providence. He was the husband of Margaret A. (Gervais) Antaya, whom he married on December 6, 1986. Born November 15, 1927 in Woonsocket, he was the only child of the late Lionel and Aldea (Milotte) Antaya. Prior to moving to Cumberland six years ago, he and Margaret had lived in Manville for twelve years. Mr. Antaya served in the United States Navy and then in the United States Air Force, serving actively in Vietnam. He retired in 1971 with the rank of Master Sargeant after twenty-five years of service. He later worked as a foreman for the former Ginnell Auto Body for several years, and he did maintenance for the Holiday Retirement Home, Manville, for twelve years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Air Force Sargeants Association, and AARP. Besides his wife, he is survived by two step daughters, Nicole D. Harney of Harrisville, and Kristen A. Morey of Woonsocket, and two granddaughters. Calling hours are Sunday, 5-8 pm, in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main Street, Woonsocket. Burial is private.
