ST. AUGUSTINE, FL - William Albert Arneault, 71, of St. Augustine, on Sunday, October 30, 2005, went from the physical arms of his wife, Vikki, into the loving arms of Jesus after battling a long illness.He was the son of the late Albert and Mildred Arneault of Cohoes. He leaves this life with the love of his two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Mary) Witowski of Cohoes and Dorthy Herbert of Enfield CT. He was the loving father of Mrs. Richard (Tammy) Flack, of St. Augustine, Jonathan Arneault (wife-Tricia) of Scotia and Mrs. Matthew (Jodi) Herrington, of St. Augustine. He was the beloved grandfather of Phillip and Branden Jarvis, Charlene Flack, Grace, Audric, Sohia and Matthias Arneault and Morgan and Casey Herrington. Also mourning his passing are three nephews, Steve Witowski, Robert and William Herbert; and a niece, Cheri Herbert; four great-nieces and a great-nephew as well as many loving in-laws.Bill was a longtime member of the American Legion and VFW after proudly serving during the Korean War with the Big Red One Division in a Special Forces capacity.He was a former steelworker in Watervliet, a business owner in Cropseyville for many years and for the last six years worked as a bridge tender, being a friendly familiar face and voice to many on the Bridge of Lions, having just retired in February of this year. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Homeport Christian Church to aid in its efforts for Hurricane Relief as he had a great compassion for all those who had suffered so much after being civilly obedient to the evacuation orders.A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, November 3, at Homeport Christian Church, 5605 U.S. 1 South, St. Augustine, Fl. 32086. Pastor Mark Frenier and Pastor Chuck Augestein will officiate at the celebration remembrance of Bill's life.
