MANCHESTER, NH -- Sr. Lorraine Audette, PM (Sr. Jeanne des Lys), 88, of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, 495 Mammoth Rd., Manchester, died November 15, 2005 at Catholic Medical Center, Manchester. Born in Aldenville, MA, on August 15, 1917, she was the daughter of Alfred and Helene (Renaud) Audette. She entered the Order of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in St. Hyacinthe, Quebec in 1936, made her first profession in 1938 and her final profession in 1943. Sr. Audette earned a bachelor's degree and a master's degree from Rivier College in Nashua. She taught art at parochial elementary schools in Concord, Manchester and the Presentation of Mary Academy in Hudson. She also taught art at Notre Dame High School in Berlin from 1945 to 1971. She later served in community services at Rivier College and as a Nurse's Aide at St. Joseph Residence in Manchester and at Presentation of Mary Academy. Sr. Audette enjoyed quilting, painting, crocheting and knitting. She made afghans for the poor and needy. The family includes a sister, Vivienne Charlebois of Arlington, VA, and nieces and nephews. Calling hours are Friday from 2 to 4 and 6:30 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. in the Resurrection Chapel of St. Marie Residence, 495 Mammoth Rd., Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Nov. 19, at 11 am. in the Resurrection Chapel.
