Lorraine A. BACHAND

YARMOUTHPORT - Lorraine A. (Bachand) Lundegren, 75, died Saturday at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis. She was the wife of Edward F. Lundegren, who died in 1972. They were married in 1956. Mrs. Lundegren was born in Woonsocket, R.I., and raised and educated in Bourne. She graduated from Bourne High School in 1948, where she was class valedictorian and captain of the field hockey team. She earned a bachelor of science degree in education from Bridgewater State College in 1952. She taught primary and secondary school in the Somerset, Brookline and Dennis school systems. After getting married, she lived in Dedham before moving to Yarmouth n 1968 to raise her family. She and her husband owned and operated Bass River Lodge and Capeway Patrol from 1968 to 1972. After her husband's death, Mrs. Lundegren managed J. F. Murphy's Restaurant in Yarmouth from 1972 to 1985 and the Skipper Restaurant from 1986 to 1992. In 1995 she became office manager at TechPlus Computer Co. in South Yarmouth, where she worked until her death. She was active in St. David's Episcopal Church of Bass River. Survivors include three sons, Mark E. Lundegren of Kansas City, Kan., Bruce E. Lundegren of Arlington, Va., and Scott J. Lundegren of South Yarmouth; a daughter, Gail A. Murray of Westwood; two brothers, Lucien Bachand of Falmouth and Randall Bachand of Easton, Md.; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation is 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth. A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. David's Episcopal Church, 205 Old Main St., South Yarmouth. Burial will follow in Ancient Cemetery, Ancient Way, Yarmouthport.
