Rosemary A. BASTIEN

Rosemary A. Zimmel, 82, a resident of W7016 W. Voyager Drive, Fond du Lac, passed away Aug. 28, 2005, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born Aug. 21, 1923, in Fond du Lac, a daughter of the late Adolph and Ella Reichelt Bastien.On Jan. 31, 1945, she married Lester Eugene Zimmel. Rosemary was employed as a phone operator in Chicago and later worked for A.O. Smith Company. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, the St. Anne and St. Theresa Societies and the American Legion Post 270 Auxiliary, having served as its treasurer. Rosemary served as a Girl Scout leader and especially enjoyed the Fireside Girls and 4-H. Her passion for many years was to buy and sell antiques. She loved cooking, sewing, knitting and collecting dolls and buttons. Rosemary was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be sadly missed by her loving family and friends. Survivors include her eight children, Grace (Gerard) Heidt of Randolph, Wis., Donna Pfantz of North Fond du Lac, Paul Zimmel of Theresa, Amy (Bob Jacobs) Christian of Iron Ridge, Wis., Anne (Bob Wolf) Henning of Fond du Lac, Toni (Jon) Beede of Fond du Lac, Geralyn Harrelson of Lake City, Fla., and Tina (Scott) Kutalek of Milwaukee, Wis.; 17 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She is further survived by two sisters, Ruth “Boots” Widman of Godfrey, Ill., and Patricia “Pat” (Al) Hennecke of Allenton, Wis.; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and many friends.She was preceded in death by her former husband, Lester; one brother, Joseph Bastien; and a sister, Janet Zenner.• Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005, at Holy Family Parish-Sacred Heart Church. The Rev. Dennis Budka will officiate.
