William I. Bechard II, 52, died unexpectedly Aug. 27, 2005 at his home in Waterbury. Born in New Britain, Bill lived many years in Mountain Lakes, N.J., before his family moved to Ridgefield in 1969.An avid fisherman and antique gun collector, Bill graduated from Ridgefield High School in 1971 and attended Post Junior College, Northeastern University and Western Connecticut State University, from which he earned a B.A. in business.His brother Brad of West Redding and sister Michelle Bechard of Kensington, Md., survive him, as does his good friend, Steve White of Brookfield.His father William Bechard of Stamford and mother Helen Bechard of Danbury, predeceased Bill.Interment is private. Condolences may be sent to Brad Bechard at 22 Station Road, West Redding, CT 06896.The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Red Cross for Hurricane Katrina efforts, c/o Bill Bechard.
