Ovide Ernes BELLAND

BELLAND-Antoine (Tony) Ovide Ernest Belland, Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, on November 27, 1933, Tony fulfilled his childhood dream by relocating to Los Angeles, California in 1953 to attend the National Schools of Los Angeles to become a technician in the burgeoning field of television repair. The following year, he met and married Mary Virginia Brennan, of Los Angeles and moved with his bride to Whittier. In 1959, Tony resumed his academ ic career, eventually attaining his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, while working full time and raising his growing family. He graduated and began working as an engineer in the aerospace field, employed first with Autonetics, eventually concluding his engineering career at Northrop in 1987. Ever pragmatic, Tony obtained his real estate license in 1975 where he found his true calling in real estate investment and property management. Surrounded by his loving family, Tony left this life on August 1 , 2005 after a short but valiant fight with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Mary; their eight children, Denise Belland of Fullerton, Marianne Andrus of Roseburg, Oregon, Annette Holcomb of San Diego, Daniel Belland of Los Angeles, Carol Ybarra of Whittier, Matthew Belland of Whittier, Kevin Belland of Los Angeles, and Amy Belland of Whittier and eleven grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to St. Vincent Meals on Wheels at 2131 West Third S treet, Los Angeles, Ca 90057-0992.
