Services for MayEtta Ann Benoit, 54, were conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005 at Acadian Funeral Home. Interment followed privately.Visiting hours were observed Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005 from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. at Acadian Funeral Home.A life long resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Benoit died at 8:35 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, 2005, at her residence.Mrs. Benoit was employed with Advantage Glass as a secretary.She is survived by her father, Allen B. Benoit; four children, Lisa Darby and husband Renny, Jennifer Erwin and husband Larry, Betsy Nguyen and husband Hung and Evie David; five sisters, Jackie B. Hoover, Claylee LeBlanc, Rosemary Dore, Carolyn Comeaux and Emily Rodrigue; two brothers, Allen Benoit Jr. and Clifton Benoit; and nine grandchildren, Ashley Darby, Chance Erwin, Ren Darby, Chelsi, Jenna and Jade Erwin, Ally, Maelei and Evan Nguyen.Mrs. Benoit is preceded in death by her mother, Lela Romero Benoit; two brothers, ElRay and Herman DeRouen; three sisters, Joyce Benoit, Lorraine Romero and Tonia Charpentier.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family to offset funeral expenses.Acadiana Funeral Home of New Iberia was in charge of the arrangements.
