R. "Sylvia" Jalbert, age 69, of Waterboro, Maine, died on Saturday, December 3, 2005, in No. Waterboro, at the home of her son. She was born on December 19, 1935, in Bridgeport, a daughter of Archie and Adrienne Domingue Benoit, and was educated in Bridgeport schools. She graduated from Bassick High School in the class of 1954 and came to the Waterboro are in 1987. On July 21, 1962, she married Andre P. Jalbert in Bridgeport. He died October 13, 2003. While living in Bridgeport, she owned and operated Syl's Hideaway Restaurant. She enjoyed being with her family, traveling and camping across the country. Survivors are: three sons, Albert C. Gilmore III and his wife, Ann, of Longwood, Fla., Jeffrey D. Gilmore of Acworth, Ga., Paul A Jalbert and his wife, Lisa, of No. Waterboro; three daughters, Cynthia L. Gilmore of Waterboro, Cherie D. Silvernail of Trumbull, Michelle M. Jalbert of Riverview, Fla.; one brother, Archie Benoit of Connecticut; one sister, Marjorie Laufer of Less, Mass.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no visiting hours. Funeral services will be private. Arrangements are by Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm Street, Biddeford, ME 04005.
