PHIPPSBURG -- Mark A. Bernier Sr., 53, of Windy Acres Drive died unexpectedly Thursday, Dec. 15, 2005 at his home. He was born in Brunswick on Oct. 3, 1953, a son of Robert J. and Theresa M. LaPointe Bernier. He was educated in the Brunswick schools and graduated from Brunswick High School in 1973. On May 23, 1973 he married Patricia A. Clark. He worked for 20 years for the Goodyear Co., in Brunswick, South Portland, and Portland, as a master auto technician, and for the past 10 years at Haley's Tire in Falmouth where he was a service manager. He was an accomplished carpenter and enjoyed riding his Harley, woodworking, boating, four-wheeling, and dogs. He was predeceased by his mother, and two brothers, Joseph Bernier and John Bernier. Surviving are his wife and his father, both of Phippsburg; two sons, Mark A. Bernier Jr., and his wife Trish of Bath, and Jason P. Bernier and his wife Tonya of Phippsburg; four grandchildren, Trevor Bernier, Jocelyn Bernier, Kayla Bernier, and Connor Bernier; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held 6 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 21, at David E. Desmond & Son Funeral Home, 638 High St., Bath with Russ Toussaint officiating.
