FORT MILLER -- Jody J. Blanchard, 46, a resident of Blodgett Road, died unexpectedly Saturday, Sept. 10, 2005, at Saratoga Hospital after being stricken at work. Jody loved his family. He was especially proud of his daughters who are pursuing their degrees at St. Rose and Hartwick Colleges. He enjoyed Sunday dinners with his extended family, often lasting well into the evening around a roaring bonfire. He also loved working on his computers, going to the movies and anything Sci-Fi. Born July 20, 1959, in Glens Falls, he was the son of Harold Blanchard of South Glens Falls and Myrna Davis of Greenwich. Jody was employed as a corrections officer at the Mount McGregor Correctional Facility in Wilton. He was predeceased by a brother Harold 'Duff' Blanchard. Survivors in addition to his parents include his wife of 24 years, Cynthia Davis Blanchard of Fort Miller; two daughters, Amy and Rachel Blanchard of Fort Miller; three brothers, Herbert Blanchard of Orlando, Fla., Dale Blanchard of N.C., and Randy Blanchard of Greenwich; his 'favorite' sister, Sharon Blanchard of Schuylerville; a special nephew, Brett Blanchard of Greenwich; a 'weekend daughter' Brienda Davis; and several other nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2005, at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville from 4 to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, 2005, at the Fort Miller Reformed Church with the Rev. Charles Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in Fort Miller. Memorials may be made in his name to the Fort Miller Reformed Church.
