OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — John A. Boivin, 64, passed away on April 24, 2005, in Oklahoma City after a long five-year battle with cancer. He was born June 11, 1940, in Rusk County, the son of Henry and Helen (Olson) Boivin. He graduated from Glen Flora High School. John entered the Air Force after graduation. He spent 24 years in the service. He was a Vietnam vet. After service he worked at the Oklahoma City post office for 17 years. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Mei, whom he married on Sept. 2, 1971; His brothers, Frank (Pearl) of Wilmington, Ill., and William (Bonnie) of Elk Mound; sister, Susan (Harold) Blum Mantino, Ill.; several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.John was preceded in death by his parents; and grandparents; one niece, Linda Blum; one nephew, Kevin Boivin. Funeral services were on April 28, 2005, in Oklahoma City, Okla., with military honors. A short service will be at Ingram cemetery later this month.
