Raymond G. BOLDUC

BIDDEFORD - Raymond G. Bolduc, 85, of Biddeford died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005 at Southern Maine Medical Center after a long illness. He was born in Biddeford on Jan. 13, 1920, a son of Adelard and Aimee Vaillancourt Bolduc. He was educated in Biddeford parochial schools and graduated from the former St. Louis High School in the class of 1940. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served six years during World War II seeing action on Iwo Jima and participating in the occupation of Japan. On Nov. 3, 1946 he married Therese E. Gendreau in St. Marie's Church in Lowell, Mass. She died Sept. 18, 1995. Raymond continued his education and graduated from the New England Institute of Mortuary Sciences in Boston, Mass., in 1947. He worked six years for Emond Funeral Home, Biddeford. In August of 1953 he established the Bolduc Funeral Home at 291 Alfred St. that is now part of Hope Memorial Chapel. He retired to Florida in 1975 for 27 years returning back to Biddeford in 2002. In 1993 he was honored as the King representing the Bolduc Heritage in the La Kermesse Parade. Raymond was an active member of St. Joseph Church for many years and was a member of the original parish council. He also served on the St. Joseph Cemetery Committee. He was a life member of the 3rd and 4th Degrees of the Luke E. Hart Council of the Knights of Columbus and the St. Louis Alumni Association. Surviving are a daughter, Louise P. Trottier and her husband Robert of Hollis; four sons, Marc R. Bolduc and his wife Patricia of Biddeford, and Norman R. Bolduc and his wife Terry of Parsonsfield, Maurice L. Bolduc and his wife Lucy of San Dimas, Calif., and Michael C. Bolduc and his wife Merlys of Coconut Creek, Fla.; two sisters, Sr. Louise Bolduc, p.m., of Manchester, N.H., and Rose A. Bolduc of Biddeford; two brothers, the Rev. Richard R. Bolduc, o.m.i., of Tewksbury, Mass., and Jerome M. Bolduc and his wife Betty Ann of Longwood, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews Visiting hours will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, at Hope Memorial Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday at St. Joseph Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford. Arrangements are by Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford.
