Watson "Slim" Alfred Everall Peacefully, on November 17, 2004, with his family at his side, Slim passed away at the Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 80. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered. Left to cherish his memory are Vi Francey; daughters Mary-Jean (Steve), and Colleen Crocker and his son David (Linda). Grandchildren; Jack Crocker, Kimberly and Ryan Francey, Trina Everall (Keith), Doug and Ken Dyck and Deana Bolton, Great grandchildren Taylor and Serena Crocker, Emma Leigh Guay, Emily and Doug (Jr) Dyck and Erik, Kyle and Jaelyn Bolton. He was predeceased by sons Alfie Everall and Dan Francey. Slim was born in Bowsman Manitoba on March 30, 1924. He spent his younger years in Brandon. He worked for many years in the trades as a steam fitter/plumber until he began operating Arnason’s Cabins, with Vi, in Gimli Manitoba. They ran the resort together until 1981 when they retired and began wintering in Texas for the next ten years. He was an Honorary member of the West Kildonan Legion Branch #30. Slim was a caring and gentle soft spoken man who was always willing to give a helping hand to others. He shared his abilities, knowledge and wisdom with us. He was very innovative and loved to spend time in his workshop creating “little wonders” as well as in the kitchen, experimenting in “gourmet cuisine”. His love of birds and wildlife developed as a child and remained with him throughout his life. Slim’s unselfish nature and thoughtfulness earned him our deepest respect and love. Our lives have been enriched because he was with us. Though he has gone on, he will remain with us in spirit and in our hearts forever. Cremation has taken place.
