CARENCRO -Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, at a Mass of Christian Burial in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Francis John Boudreaux, 72, who passed away Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, at his residence in Carencro.Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park in Lafayette.The Rev. Bill Melancon, pastor of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro, will officiate at the services.Musical selections will be provided by Valerie Andrus. The songs will be "How Great Thou Art", "I Will Never Forget You", "Just A Closer Walk With Thee", "Ave Maria" and "Battle Hymn Of The Republic".Mr. Boudreaux was a native of the Youngsville-Milton area. For 15 years he lived in Lafayette but had been a resident of Carencro for most of his life. He was a parishioner of St. Peter Catholic Church in Carencro. Mr. Boudreaux was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during the Korean conflict. He was employed with Huval Bakery in Lafayette for over 25 years and Ralph Electronics for ten years.Survivors include his wife, the former Agnes Leblanc, of Carencro; two sons, John R. Boudreaux, of Lafayette, and Byron J. Boudreaux, of Carencro; three brothers, Edwin Boudreaux and his wife, Susan, of Panama City, Fla., Lenis Boudreaux, of New Iberia, and Dalton Boudreaux, of Lafayette; and one sister, Noella Trahan, of Welsh.He was preceded in death by his parents, Demas Boudreaux and the former Helena Simon; and two sisters, Agnes Boudreaux and Gladys Desormeaux.A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home.The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. today and will continue from 8 a.m. Friday until service time.The family would like to extend special thanks to Hospice of Acadiana as well as Dr. Rainey and his staff.The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston Street, Suite 200, Lafayette, LA 70503.Melancon Funeral Home, Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel, 4117 N.
