Irene D. BOURDON

Irene D. Marien -- August 4, 1906 - December 30, 2005 -- NORWICH- Irene D. Marien 99, formerly of 7C Norman Rd. and of Taftville died Friday morning at Haven Health in Griswold. She was born in Toronto, Canada on August 4, 1906 the daughter of the late Henry and Marie (Trudeau) Bourdon. Mrs. Marien was last employed as a cafeteria worker at the Norwich Public Schools and was previously employed at the former Ponemah Mills in Taftville as a spinner. While living in Taftville she was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. On May 30, 1926 she married Joseph A. Marien in Sacred Heart Church in Taftville, who died on February 15, 1993.Survivors include three sons, J. Roger Marien of Norwich, Richard L. Marien of Taftville and Raymond L. Marien of Preston. Two daughters, Theresa Portelance of Mystic and Rita Dugas of Lisbon. One sister, Sister Margaret Bourdon of Sherbrooke, Canada. Fourteen grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one daughter Doris Rose Marien. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church in Taftville. There will be no procession from the funeral home. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Taftville. Calling hours at the Guillot Funeral Home 75 South B. St. Taftville will be Monday from 47 P.M.
