PETOSKEY - Rosalie J. Duffiney, 77, of Cheboygan, passed away Monday, Aug. 8, 2005 at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey.A resident of the area her entire life, Rosalie was born April 10, 1928 in River Rouge, Mich., the daughter of William and Eva (Charboneau) Boyea. On Sept. 1, 1945 in Cheboygan, she married Marshall Duffiney, who preceded her in death in 1989. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as the chief cook at Cheboygan Memorial Hospital for 18 years. She also was an avid reader.Surviving are three daughters, Marsha Burcham of Cheboygan, Adelaide (Walter) Morris of Centerline, Mich., and Gail (Vernon) Bryant of Cheboygan; a son, Kevin Duffiney of Centerline; two sisters, Jeanette Dickman of Metamora, Mich., and Marie Lanoo of St. Ignace; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and a son David in 1974.There will a gathering of friends and family at 1 p.m. today, Aug. 10. 2005, at City Beach on Huron Street in Cheboygan.The Christian Funeral Home of Cheboygan is assisting the family with the arrangements.
