Estelle Elizabeth BREAUX

Estelle Elizabeth (Duckie) Breaux was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on September 27, 1941 to the union of Vernia L. Marshall of San Francisco, California and the late Joseph Breaux. Estelle was raised in San Francisco where she attended school in the San Francisco Unified School District. She graduated from George Washington High School in 1959. She maintained a loving relationship, until her death, with high school friends Norma Fitzpatrick, Wanda Hutchinson and Vivian Williams. Estelle also attended San Francisco City College where she enrolled in several Drama courses. In 1961 Estelle married William Paschal who preceded her in death. No children were born from this union. For more than 38 years Duckie was employed by the United States Government at the San Francisco Presidio in the Commissary Division. She retired in 1999 as a butcher with the Commissary. While employed at the Presidio, Estelle befriended many people. Ever day God granted her the opportunity to nurture established friendships, develop new relationships and serve as an inspiration and a light to every relationship that continued until she departed this life. To her Heavenly Father she was a "Woman of Faith." Her favorite scripture was Psalm 118:24-"This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it." Estelle will also be remembered at Cornerstone Baptist Church for her generosity. Duckie was sometimes known as the In-House Photographer/Historian. Estelle would often take a set of pictures for her keeping and then send you your copy. As a vibrant, fun loving senior, Estelle saw a need for seniors (at the "Stone") to have fun. Through the encouragement of her Pastor, Kenneth Reece, Estelle established an Annual Senior Citizens Day. Estelle never viewed life as anything but another opportunity to Praise God, have fun and she believed everyone, including seniors, should live in the same manner. Estelle also loved gardening and believed that her church should never be without fresh flowers for Sunday morning services, therefore every Sunday there would be fresh flowers from her garden. Estelle Elizabeth (Duckie) Breaux will forever be remembered by her much-loved mother, Vernia L. Marshall of San Francisco. Also cherishing Estelle memories are her aunts: Mrs. Dorothy Wesson of San Mateo, California and Mrs. Miriam Armstrong of San Francisco, California; uncle: Mr. Moses Hamilton, Sr. of Oakland, California; aunts-in-law: Mrs. Arnette Hamilton (Godmother) of San Francisco, California, Mrs. Ludwilder Hamilton of Opelousas, Louisiana, Mrs. Leanna Hamilton of Oakland, California and Mrs. Mary Hamilton of Houston, Texas; uncle-in-law; Mr. Oliver Wesson, Sr. of San Mateo, California; her God-brother and cousin: Mr. Jerome Hamilton of Sacramento, California; a host of cousins who sometimes called Estelle "Mother Duck" and many loving and adoring friends. -- BREAUX, Estelle E. - Passed away November 14, 2005.
