LOREAUVILLE — Services for Joseph V. “Topeka” Broussard, 81, will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.Visiting hours will be observed today from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary bing recited at 6 p.m. at David Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Monday at 8 a.m. until the time of service.A native of Iberia Parish and resident of Loreauville, Mr. Broussard died at 2:28 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23, 2005, at Iberia Medical Center.Mr. Broussard worked for Texaco as a roustabout in the oil field for over 39 years. He was a member of Loreauville Hunting Club. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the World War II in the Calvary. He loved to hunt and fish.He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Irene Louviere Broussard; a sister, Millie Breaux; and a niece, Vinetta Hoffpauir all of Loreauville.Mr. Brousard was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Broussard and Bessie Bourgeouis.Pallbearers will be Herman, Merlin, William and Frank Louviere, Irvin Breaux and Stephen Keith.Honorary pallbearers will be Francis Mestayer, C.L. Romero, Alton Gondron, Donald “Huff” Hoffpauir, Benjamin Hoffpauir, Dusty Hoffpauir and Dr. Boughton.David Funeral Home of Loreauvill is in charge of the arrangements.
