LAFAYETTE - Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005, at a service in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Hazel Gilfry, 84, the former Hazel Broussard, who died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005, at Lady of the Oaks Retirement Manor in Lafayette.Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.The Rev. John DeLeeuw will conduct the funeral services. Survivors include her beloved husband of 59 years, John W. Gilfry, and her loving daughter, Sherrill Lorio, of Santa Rosa, Calif.She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Rosina Talbot Broussard.A native and lifelong resident of Lafayette, Mrs. Gilfry spent the last eight years living at Lady of the Oaks Retirement Manor. She was a loving wife, mother and friend to all who knew her.Prior to her retirement, she was employed with the State of Louisiana Department of Welfare.
