Esther Toups Duplantis, 82, a native of Cut Off and resident of Bayou Blue, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2005.Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 to funeral time Thursday at Samart Funeral Home. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with burial in Cheramie Cemetery.She is survived by her husband, Paul A. Duplantis; one son, Bennie P. Toups; two stepsons, Mark Jesse and Wayne Duplantis; two daughters, Patricia Toups Bellanger and Iris Toups Bascle; one stepdaughter, Debra Cavalier; 15 grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and eight step-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her first husband, Liless P. Toups; her parents, Eves and Victoria Callais; one son, Liless P. Toups Jr.; one daughter, Geraldine Toups Cheramie; three grandsons, Kevin Cheramie, Eves Cheramie and Troy C. Toups; one grandaughter, Karen Toups Hogan; two great-grandsons, Nicholis Toups and Rion Hogan; one stepdaughter, Helen Duplantis; and two brothers, Floyd and Gil Caillais.She was an ordained minister of Full Gospel Church.Samart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
