Joseph CARON

Joseph "Hector" Caron, 75, of Bloomfield, died on Sunday afternoon, May 15, 2005 at his home, surrounded by his family. Mr. Caron was born on August 13, 1929 in St. Justine, Quebec, son of the late Joseph Fulbert and Marie Alice (Auclair) Caron. Mr. Caron served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, receiving the Army Occupation Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Following his discharge he moved to Manchester, where he delivered furniture and worked for International Paper Company. He then returned to the North Country and worked in the woods and as a superintendent at the Stratford Plywood Mill. He then moved to Pennsylvania for a short period of time and worked in construction, ultimately moving back to Vermont and working for Ethan Allen. He was talented in the areas of carpentry and plumbing and was an avid outdoorsman. He built his home and discount store in Bloomfield where he and wife worked until his health deteriorated, resulting in his retirement. Mr. Caron is survived by his loving wife, Frances Caron of Bloomfield; eleven children, David Caron and wife Terri of Brunswick, Phil Caron of Manchester, Sandra Caron of Scotia, N.Y., Mike Caron of Weare, Gene Caron and wife Doris of Manchester, Nancy Sielicki and husband Michael of Hancock, Hector Caron of Manchester, Paul Caron and partner Gary Cote of Lunenburg, Susie Bunnell and husband Steve of Bloomfield, Sharon Belknap and husband Michael of Bloomfield, and Marcel Caron of Colebrook; three brothers, Raymond Caron of Georgia, Roland Caron of Groveton and Marcel Caron of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Theresa Lavoie of Island Pond, and Jackie Lakin of Derby, Vt.; twenty-seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and num-erous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Caron is preceded in death by his parents; by a brother, Emilien Caron; three sisters, Lucille Shaw, Christine Manning and Jean LaPerle; and a grandson, John Perron. Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 20 from 9 to 11 a.m. and 2 to 4 p.m. at the Jenkins Funeral Home in Colebrook. A graveside service will immediately follow at 4 p.m. at the Colebrook Village Cemetery, with The Reverend Albert Bellefeuille officiating.
