Joseph E. CARON

Joseph E. Caron, 85, of Heidi Lane, Merrimack, died Thursday, December 15, 2005 at his home after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. Mr. Caron was born in Nashua on January 1, 1920, a son of the late David & Cecile (Ouellette) Caron. He was the devoted husband of Cecile T. (Chomard) Caron to whom he had been happily married for 62 years. One of fourteen children, he was a longtime resident of Nashua until his recent move to Merrimack four years ago. He attended Nashua Schools and was in the first graduating class of the Elm St. Nashua High School, class of 1938, serving on the class reunion committee for many years. He also attended Lowell Technological Institute and Manchester Technological institute. Mr. Caron served in the US Navy during WWII as an Aviation Machinist Mate, First Class. He worked for Nashua Corporation for 36 years retiring as a supervisor of the mechanical department. Mr. Caron belonged to several organizations including the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, Nashua Industrial Management Club, former president and life member of Catholic War Veterans Post #1406, American Legion James E. Coffee Post #3, committeeman for the Boy Scout Troop 272 of Nashua and he was a former member of the Knight of Columbus Council #122. Besides his wife, Mr. Caron is survived by; One son & daughter-in-law; Edward & Christine Caron of North Kingstown, RI; Two daughters & sons-in-law; Elaine & Robert Hebert of Merrimack and Jane & Joseph Staszowski of South Windsor, CT.; Nine grandchildren; Ted Caron, Christina Caron, Michaela Caron, Jessica Kozakis, Nathan Hebert, Emily Hebert, Kevin Staszowski, Gregory Staszowski and Kathryn Staszowski; Two great grandsons; Chris Kozakis and Andrew Caron; One sister; Olivette Jette of Nashua; One brother & sister-in-law; Paul & Dorothy Caron of Nashua; Also several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday in St. Joseph Church at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow in St. Louis Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday morning from 8:30 AM until the time of the Mass in the Anctil-Rochette & Son Funeral Home, 21 Kinsley St., Nashua.
