SOUTHBRIDGE— One would only wish to walk their life's path with strength, courage, and determination. IDA M. (Carpentier) Livernois born December 21, 1904, did just this. With open arms she embraced 100 years of adventure in this world. But as life and death are one, on February 11, 2005 in the presence of her daughters and Mary Ann, her grand daughter, with whom she lived with since 1999, IDA's spirit began a new voyage, one with God in his eternal world. IDA's legacy began in St. Germain, Canada daughter of Nazaire and Olivine (Bastien) Carpentier. Her brothers Leo and Herman predeceased her. Later IDA met and married Edmond Livernois on November 29, 1923. Together IDA and Edmond had three children, Rita (Livernois) Breton, Albert Livernois, and Doris (Livernois) Skarani. IDA loved all of her eleven grandchildren: George Livernois, David Livernois, Paul Livernois, Diane Livernois, Mark Livernois, Ed Breton, Linda Salvatore, Doris Ann Mannweiler, Mary Ann Skarani, and Glenn Skarani. She was predeceased by a grandson Robert Breton. She also leaves 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-greatgrandchildren. During her life, IDA was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and participated in the Ladies of St. Anne Sodality, Sacred Heart Bingo, Cercle Sociale where she served as a Past President for several terms, L'Union St. Jean Baptiste, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, Casaubon Senior Center, and was an avid bridge player and enjoyed baking for the elderly, and round dancing. She was always seen around town with her beautiful smile and willingness to help people, never turning anyone away that needed help. The funeral will be Tuesday February 15th from Sansoucy Funeral Home 40 Marcy St. with a Mass at 10AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 30 Charlton Street. Burial will be in New Notre Dame Cemetery.
