Henry J. CHAPUT

Henry J. Chaput, 88, of Walhalla, ND passed away Friday June 3 at Trinity Hospital, Minot, North Dakota. Henry was born December 1, 1916 in rural Walhalla, the son of Honore and Bella (Lesperance) Chaput. He grew up and attended school in the Poplar Grove area. He was united in marriage to Clara Graveline in February of 1945. The couple farmed in the Poplar Grove area, and spent many winters in Long Beach Calif. Henry served three terms on the board of directors at the Pembilier Nursing Center, and also served on the North Olga School District Board of Directors. Henry was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Boniface Catholic Church. He continued farming in the Walhalla area until his retirement in 1982. He is survived by his wife; six children Richard (Marianne) Fountain Valley Calif., Stan (Patsy) Fargo, Larry, Fargo, Pauline (Brad) Benson, Crystal, ND, Paul (Lisa) Huntington Beach Calif., Pat (Joan) Walhalla; 13 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Alexina Lepire and Jean Dunham; brother Edmund and a brother in infancy. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at 10:30 am. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Walhalla, ND. Visitation will be held on Monday June 6, from 5 pm. - 7 pm, with a 7 pm prayer service at the church. Visitation will be held for one hour before the time of service on Tuesday.
