Eva L. Charest, 92, died on Friday, June 3, 2005 at Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home in Crookston, MN. Eva Leonide Charest was born June 11, 1912 daughter of the late George Sr. and Olivine (Paquin) Charest in Lambert Township, Oklee, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee. She attended Lambert Township School and graduated from Oklee High School. She was raised south of Oklee where she lived her life until moving into Oklee in the later years. Eva attended Normal Training and taught in several country schools. In 2003 Eva entered the CNC Unit of Northwest Medical Center and Dec. of 2003 moved to the Valley Home in Thief River Falls and on last Thursday moved to the Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home in Crookston. Eva was very active in her church and church Circle and was a member of St. Ann's Society. She enjoyed her family and friends and her church. Eva liked to play cards and drive around in her car. She is survived by her sister Alvina Fischbach of Monticello, MN and many nieces and nephews. Eva is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Eugenie Dupont, Valada Tessier, Sr. Anne Eucharia OSB, Sr. Marion Zita OSB, Sr. Flore Borgia OSB, Rose Perreault, Ida Charest and Louise Lafebvre; brothers George Jr., Walter and Theophile. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee, MN with Father John Kleinwachter officiating. Burial will be held in the St. Francis Xavier Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday only.
