YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK - Scott Douglas Cote, 44, of Yellowstone National Park, Wyo., died suddenly Thursday afternoon, Sept. 29, 2005, north of Gardiner.A memorial service will be held at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, at the Yellowstone National Park Chapel in Mammoth Hot Springs, Wyo., with the Rev. Dr. William R. Young officiating.Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home, Livingston. Scott was born Sept. 27, 1961, in Lansing, Mich., to Donald M. and Gloria L. (Doleske) Cote. In 1979 he graduated from Everett High School in Lansing, and in 1988 he received a bachelor of arts degree with honors in hotel and restaurant management from Michigan State University. Scott began working in Yellowstone National Park as a seasonal employee in 1980.He met Christina J. Johanson at the Old Faithful Inn in 1982. They were married Feb. 14, 1984, in Lake Jackson, Texas.Yellowstone has always been a special place for Scott. For the past 10 years he has been the director of operations for Xanterra Parks & Resorts in Yellowstone. His work there has impacted many aspects of the business in positive and unforgettable ways. In a variety of ways Scott was the heart and soul of the operation for many years.Survivors include his wife, Christina J. Cote of Yellowstone National Park; parents Donald M. and Gloria L. Cote of Lansing; three daughters, Laura B. Cote of Missoula and Angela Mary and Rose C. Cote, both of Yellowstone National Park; and one brother, Mark E. Cote of Florissant, Mo.Scott was incredibly involved in the lives of his children. His cheerleading abilities extended beyond the scope of his own children to all Gardiner Bruin events, and he was always supportive of a win or a loss. Most recently, Scott spread his support to the University of Montana Lady Griz basketball team, where Laura continues to play. Scott was an avid supporter of his community as well, including the Mammoth/Gardiner Community Church, Gardiner and Mammoth schools and Yellowstone Park.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be directed to the Yellowstone National Park Chapel, P.O.
