SPENCER— Beatrice L. (Cournoyer) Jones, 79, of 96 Mechanic Street died Thursday, Dec. 29 in her home after being stricken ill. Her husband Walter L. Jones died in 1987. She leaves a daughter, Joanne C., wife of David L. LaCroix of Spencer, 3 granddaughters, 4 great-granddaughters, a sister, Edna, wife of Ronnie Latour of Spencer and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is pre-deceased by a daughter, Doris B. LeBlanc. Mrs. Jones was born in Spencer, daughter of Armand and Doris (Bassett) Cournoyer. She was a Lens Inspector at the American Optical Co. and also at United Lens, both in Southbridge, for many years before retiring in 1995. She was a member of St. Mary's Church. She enjoyed bingo, crochet and playing cards. The funeral will be held Saturday, Dec. 31, from J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Mary's Church, 58 Maple Street, Spencer. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be from 8:30-9:30 AM Saturday in the funeral home.
