FRANKLIN — Dominic A. Croteau, 77, died Saturday Nov. 19, 2005, at Lakes Region General Hospital after a brief illness.He was born Aug. 22, 1928, in Manchester, the son of Seraphin (Joseph) Croteau and Fidelia (Demers) Croteau. He lived in Manchester most of his life before recently making Franklin his home.He served in the Navy, the Marine Corps, and the Army for over 20 years, traveling to many places and earning many medals for his service.After retiring from the service he worked at Manchester Mack as a mechanic for more than 20 years.His hobbies included painting, fishing, and traveling cross country in his motor home with his wife, Florence, and their dog Laddie.He was the widower of Florence M. (Clark) Croteau who died in 2001 and to whom he had been married for 48 years. He was also predeceased by a brother, Henry Croteau.Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia Gillis of Nashua and Diane Croteau and her husband Thomas of Franklin; one son, Donald Croteau and his wife Sue of Manchester; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Croteau) Hennessy, Jonathan Croteau, David Croteau, Brian Gillis, Laura Croteau, and Kristen Gillis; a sister, Rita (Croteau) Morrisette of Manchester; three brothers, Rosaire Croteau of Manchester, Leopold "Paul" Croteau of Florida, and Raymond Croteau of Franklin; many nieces, nephews and cousins.A Catholic service with military honors for both him and his wife will be held Monday, Nov. 28, 2005, at 11 a.m. in the N.H. Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society.The Cremation Society of New Hampshire is in charge of arrangements.
