Jacques L. CYPERS

Jacques L. Cypers, passed away at his home Dec. 15, 2005, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Jacques was born in Liege, Belgium, May 17, 1933, to Ismael and Leona Cypers. His father and mother along with two brothers and a sister immigrated to the United States in October 1949, and made their home in Ogden, Utah. Jacques served in the 11th Airborne at Fort Benning, Ga., at which time he met and married Joan Roe. They had their only child, Deborah L. Cypers. His wife, Joan, passed away July 12, 1989. Jacques went on to a 44 year career with the Singer Sewing Machine Co. and retired in 1996. He met and married Halene Beck in 1995. They served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Geneva, Switzerland, from March 2000 to September 2001. Jacques and Halene served as ordinance workers in the Las Vegas Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 12 years. A calling he dearly loved. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan; and parents, Ismael and Leona Cypers. Jacques is survived by his wife, Halene Beck-Cypers; daughter, Deborah L. Gleason (Scott); three stepchildren, Sherri King (Greg), Michelle Beck-Babakitis (George) and Kevin Beck (Belinda); his sister, Anne Marano (Sam); and two brothers, John Cypers (Tam) and Manuel Cypers (Marilyn). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Visitation also from 10-11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 19, at Seven Hills Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-days Saints Ward, with service to follow. Interment immediately following service at Palm Valley View Cemetery, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
