LaVoy, Jeanne -- November 16, 2005 Jeanne Daggett LaVoy, 86, of Skaneateles, died Wednesday, November 16, 2005. Born in Syracuse, she and her husband James, who died in 1988, had resided in Skaneateles since 1968. She was a graduate of Central High School in Syracuse and attended Powell School in Scranton, PA. She was a communicant of St. Mary's of the Lake Church in Skaneateles, was a member of the Newcomer's committee, and had taught religious education at St. Mary's and Holy Cross Church in Dewitt. Mrs. LaVoy was a former member of the Skaneateles Country Club and the Lake Country Tennis Club, and was a member of the Skaneateles Garden Club. She had been a Hospice and Meals on Wheels volunteer. Surviving are her son, James E. (Jean) LaVoy Jr. of Chittenango; two daughters, Mary Pat (Scott) Harris of Skaneateles and Martha Hahn of Auburn; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Services will be held 9 a.m. Monday at the Robert D. Gray Funeral Home, Skaneateles, and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary's of the Lake Church. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt. Calling hours are Sunday, 4 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home, 49 Jordan St. Contributions may be made to St. Mary's of the Lake Building Fund. Published in the Syracuse Post Standard on 11/18/2005.
