FALMOUTH - Elizabeth B. Daignault, 90, died Tuesday at Falmouth Hospital. She was the wife of the late Alexander Troup Daignault. They were married for 54 years. After graduating from high school Mrs. Daignault worked for 12 years as a legal secretary for the law firm of Choate, Hall & Stewart in Boston, leaving the firm in 1944 in order to be married, and joining her husband in Washington, D.C. When she was in her 30s she suffered from tuberculosis, and after her illness she dedicated herself to hospital service as a volunteer. When she and her husband moved to New York City she volunteered at New York Hospital, where she soon became head of volunteers and then a life overseer at the hospital. In the 1980s she moved to Quissett after summering there for many years. She was a member of Quamquissett Beach Club, Woods Hole Golf Club and Quissett Yacht Club. She served on the board of directors for the Visiting Nurse Association of Cape Cod. Survivors include a son, Alexander ''Sandy'' T. Daignault of Baldwin, Md.; a daughter, Anne D. Hartman of Truro; four grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and a great-grandson. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Jan. 2 at Church of the Messiah, Woods Hole. Burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Cape Cod Healthcare Foundation for VNA, P.O. Box 370, Hyannis, MA 02601.
