VERO BEACH, Fla. - Victory A. "Vicki" Mleko, 61, of L'Anse and Vero Beach, Fla., passed away Sunday, October 23, 2005, at her daughter's home in Vero Beach, Fla. She was born in Lansing on January 4, 1944, daughter of the late Ellsworth "Sonny" and Eleanor "Stubby" Rabideaux Darcy. Vicki lived in Baraga and Pequaming most of her life with time spent in Portland, Mich. and Lakewood Park, Fla. She was a member of Most Holy Name of Jesus Church, Assinins, and the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community.Vicki was a devoted homemaker, mother, and grandmother.Mrs. Mleko is survived by her husband, Michael; daughters, Tammy (Steve) Sholander of Lakewood Park, Fla., Suzanne Mleko of L'Anse, Michele (Jeff) Maki of Vero Beach, Fla., Vicky Lynn Mleko of L'Anse, and Christina (Steve) Demers of Vero Beach, Fla., and son, Michael Mleko of Lakewood Park, Fla.; grandchildren, Ronnie Mleko, Joshua, Dylan, and Shiloh Sholander, Samantha, Nicole and Jenna Maki, Shaylin and Zachary Demers; sisters, Barbara Swartz, Sandy Pittsley and Anne Miller; brothers, Thomas and Francis Darcy. She was preceded in death by her brother, Lawrence Darcy.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2005, from Most Holy Name of Jesus Church, Assinins, with Father George Maki, Celebrant. Casket escorts will be Shane and Jody Pittsley, Damian Maki, Josh and Dylan Sholander and Ronnie Mleko. Interment will take place in the Pequaming Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 28, 2005, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L'Anse, and for 1 hour prior to the Mass at the church on Saturday. A parish prayer service will be held Friday evening at 7 p.m. in the funeral chapel. The Reid Funeral Service and chapel, L'Anse has been entrusted with arrangements.
