NEW BEDFORD -- Ernest T. Davignon, 77, of New Bedford, died unexpectedly Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005, at St. Luke's Hospital. Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late John Wilfred and Aldea (Rock) Davignon. He lived most of his life in New Bedford and was a communicant of St. Joseph-St. Therese Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Davignon was a self-employed automobile mechanic and operated Ernie's Auto. He enjoyed walking and was devoted to his companion and his dog, Cocoa. Survivors include a son, Wayne Davignon and his wife, Cathie, of Kings Park, N.Y.; a daughter, Jeanette Lush and her husband, Ralph, of Kings Park; two sisters, Dora Przymierski and Lucille N. Bizarro and her husband, Daniel, all of New Bedford; a brother, Paul O. Davignon of New Bedford; four grandsons; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and an uncle. He was a brother of the late Claire LeBlanc. His funeral Mass, with cremated remains present, will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph-St. Therese Church followed by burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd.
