Suzanne Clair DAVIS

Suzanne Clair Davis Duplessis JAN 14, 1950 - JUNE 1, 2005 A San Francisco native who grew up in Modesto, Suzanne has left us much too soon. A 1968 Thomas Downey High School graduate, Suzanne continued her education at Modesto Junior College, Stanislaus State and later earned degrees at several universities nation wide. While attending Modesto Junior College Suzanne began her retail career, working part time at Modesto's old downtown Sears store. She went on to become both sought after and frequently honored in the retail realm as she worked her way up to the highest management levels. She culminated her career as the European Group President of a large specialty retailer, supervising operations in France, Germany, Switzerland, and Belgium. She died in Zurich, Switzerland.Suzannne was committed to her husband of 27 years, Carel, and to her family. When not pursuing her work challenges, Suzanne most enjoyed quiet time with her husband and their German Shepards, world travel, reading, gardening, and almost anything to do with her family.Upon this earth she leaves her husband Carel of Zurich, her father Jeffrey Davis and mom Ramona of Carmel, her sister Constance Davis and partner Linda Walter of Quarryville, PA, her sister Cecile Quesenberry and husband David of Modesto, sister Elizabeth Brunner and husband Steve of McKinleyville, CA, sister Jennifer Perito and husband Michael of Smartville, CA, brother Jeffrey Davis and wife Patricia of North Palm Beach, FL, brother Daniel Davis and wife Jean Agapoff of Sacramento, sister Sarah Trice of Modesto, sister Irene Sheppard and husband Paul of Tucson, AZ and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her mother Constance McCormick Davis.To each of us she was sister extrordinair, counselor, mother, nurse, educator, confidant, jokester, and exceptional friend. To us, and to all who passed Suzanne's way, her dependability, calm logic, twinkled eye and generous being will never be forgotten.A memorial service will be held at 10am Thursday, July 14, at Saint Angela's Catholic Church, 9th Street and Lighthouse Avenue in Pacific Grove, California.Any remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society (Ovarian Cancer Research) or to your favorite charity.www.modbee.com/obituaries Published in the Modesto Bee on 7/11/2005.
