Catherine Mildred DeCelles, 76, of Las Vegas, lost her fight with lung and bone cancer Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005, which she had fought for a long time. She was born April 9, 1929, in Patterson, N.J., and resided in Las Vegas for 43 years. Catherine loved to stay busy doing crafts and sewing. She also loved to spend time with her family. Catherine was involved with the Boy Scouts of America for 10 years. During those years, she was given awards for leadership and coordinator from the West Round Table. In 1978, she was also awarded the District Award of Merit. Catherine is survived by her loving husband, of 31 years, Joseph DeCelles; four daughters, Dorothy, Kathy, Betty Ann and Kelley; and four sons, Henry, Joseph, Allan and Scott. She is also survived by her three brothers; two sisters; 19 grandchildren and 44 great-grand-children. Viewing will be from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, with service to follow, both at Desert Memorial, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice.
