ROGERS CITY - Marie D. Tanguay, age 97, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2005, at Tendercare of Rogers City. Marie was born in Detroit on July 24, 1908, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Labich) Deering. She worked for many years in the Detroit area as manager of a bakery and later in a grocery store.Marie moved to Northern Michigan from a nursing home in Royal Oak to be closer to her daughter about two years ago.She is survived by her daughter, Elaine (Robert) Butts of Cheboygan; grandchildren Nick Couture of Cheboygan and Michelle Couture of Troy, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.Cremation has taken place and a Mass in her memory will be conducted at a later date.The Nordman Funeral Home of Cheboygan is assisting the family with arrangements.
