MELROSE - Marjorie A. Miller, 77, of Maple Lane, Melrose, died Thursday morning, November 3, at Northwoods Rehabilitation Center, Schaghticoke, following a lengthy illness. Born December 22, 1927, in Cohoes, daughter of the late Melvin and Vivian Deno DeForge.Widow of Kenneth W. Miller, who died in 1996. She was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School . She had been a postmaster for the U.S. Postal Service, serving for a number of years at the Melrose office. A longtime member of the Tomhannock Methodist Church, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Melrose Fire Department. She considered herself a loving cat fancier. Survivors include a son Melvin (Nancy J.) Miller of Melrose, a daughter Cynthia A. McClure of Melrose, a brother James J. DeForge of Troy, and grandchildren Jamie L. and Jennifer A. Miller, William S. Simard, Michael L. Morris, great-grandchildren Zackery, William, Cameron, Eathan Simard. Also one nephew Kevin DeForge of Schenectady. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. from the Chase Funeral Home, 173 Main St., Schaghticoke, with the Rev. Gaylord Campbell, former pastor of the Tomhannock Methodist Church, officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 - 8 p.m. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Schaghticoke.Memorial contributions may be made to the Melrose Fire Department, Melrose 12121 or to the Hoosic Valley Rescue Squad, Route 40, Schaghticoke 12154 in her memory.
