COTEAU — Services for Rosie Delahoussaye Romero, 86, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church with the Rev. Barry Crochet officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.Visiting hours will be observed today from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 6 p.m. at Acadian Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Friday at 8 a.m. until the time of service.A native of Iberia Parish and a resident of Bull Island, Mrs. Romero died at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2005, at her residence.Mrs. Romero was retired from the Iberia Parish School System.She is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Arthur Romero; three sons, Johnny Romero Sr., James Romero and wife Gail, and Billy LaBiche and wife Rita; two brothers, Wilton and C.D. Delahoussaye; a sister, Mary Jane Landry; 10 grandchildren, Johnny Romero Jr., Veronica, Wade and Cassandra Romero, Troy Segura, Michael, Rachel and Simone LaBiche, Mark and Brad Hebert; 19 great-grandchildren, Destiny, Danielle, Lauren and Logan Romero, Joel Meyers, Brianna Lanuza, Alex Segura, Katie and Sydney LaBiche, Lucas and Ehmett Kim, Ean and Abby Sherman, Seaneen, Janee, Paige, Mackenzie, Meagan and Kristin Hebert; and two great-great-grandchildren, Julian and Cullin Melancon.Mrs. Romero was preceded in death by her parents, Clesmae J. and Alicia Gary Delahoussaye; a daughter-in-law, Nelda Romero; four brothers, Austin, Dulais, Kellogg and Ignace Delahoussaye; and three sisters, Duclacia Dore, Ducretia Rogers and Dorothy Schaubert.Pallbearers will be James Romero, Johnny Romero Sr., Johnny Romero Jr., Wade Romero, Billy LaBiche, Troy Segura, Mark Hebert, Brad Hebert, Sandy Meyers and Jose Lanuza.Acadiana Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of the arrangements.
