Sherman Denoyer -- Kankakee -- Visitation for Sherman Denoyer, 92, of Kankakee, will be from 9 a.m. Wednesday until the 11 a.m. services at the Clancy-Gernon-Houk Funeral Home in St. Anne. Rev. James Fanale will officiate. He died Sunday (Oct. 23, 2005) at ManorCare Health Services. Mr. Denoyer retired from Cote Tile. He had worked at Kroehler's and Illinois Central Railroad. He was born Jan. 19, 1913, in St. Anne, the son of Edward and Elsie Nourie Denoyer. His first wife, the former Cecile Cote, whom he married in 1934 in St. Anne, is deceased. He then married the former Eleanor Henneike in 1973 in St. Anne. She is also deceased. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church. He liked gardening and his soap operas. Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Patricia Denoyer of Kankakee; three daughters and one son-in-law, Sylvia and Thomas Alvey of Bourbonnais, Norma Jette of Bradley, Mary Denoyer-Klonowski of St. Anne; three stepsons and stepdaughters-in-law, John and Janis Henneike of Kankakee, Ronald and Nancy Henneike, Garry and Iris Henneike, all of Martinton; three sisters, Eleanor Casper of Bradley, Odell Clemants of Tennessee, Patricia Finney of St. Anne; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Raymond Denoyer of St. Anne, Albert Denoyer of Blue Island, Lawrence and Janis Denoyer of Bradley; 15 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren. Deceased are one son, Gayle Denoyer; two brothers, Ralph and Harold Denoyer; one sister, Isabelle Elsey; and one great-great-grandchild.
