CHEBOYGAN - Nathalie E. Chevalier, 99, of Cheboygan, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2005, at Cheboygan Memorial Hospital, Extended Care Unit.Nathalie was born Dec. 12, 1905 in Benton Township, the daughter of Charles and Louise (L'Oiseau) Deroshia. On April 4, 1926 in Detroit, she married Charles Chevalier. Mrs. Chevalier was a member of a local pioneering family that settled in Benton Township, and had been in excellent health until she broke her hip on May 26. She liked visitors, and had an excellent memory about her life and events. She enjoyed making quilts, and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.Surviving are 7 children, Adelaide Summers of East Tawas, Mich., Betty (Joseph) Magulski of Cheboygan; Ardith (Dale) Goodall of Flint, Mich., MaryLou Meyer of Sarasota, Fla., Norma Peleshok of Livonia, Mich., Elaine (Michael) Moorman of Dade City, Fla., and Sue (Bob) White of Ortonville, Mich.; 26 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles, in 1977; a son, Raymond, in 1979; and a daughter, Arlene Binns, in 2002.Visitation will be conducted from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 9, 2005, at the Christian Funeral Home in Cheboygan, with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Friday. Funeral Services will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2005, also at the Christian Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Megge will officiate. Interment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.Memorials may be made to the Bishop Baraga Schools.
