Edgar E. DESMARAIS

Edgar E. Desmarais, 89 of Manville Road, Woonsocket died Tuesday evening in Oakland Grove Nursing Home, Woonsocket. He is the husband of Doris (Benoit) Desmarais, they were married on June 8, 1946. Mr. Desmarais worked for many years at the former Roxbury Carpet Co. in Framingham, Ma. and retired in 1988 from Miller Electric in Woonsocket. Mr. Desmarais was a 1936 graduate of Mount St. Charles Academy in Woonsocket and served in the Army during WW2. A communicant of St. Agatha's Church, he had been a long time parishoner at Holy Family in Woonsocket. Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter, Denise Dufresne and son in law Richard with whom he lived and three grandchildren, Richard L. Dufresne Jr, Michelle LeClerc and Lisa Siekiera. He was the brother of the late Raymond Desmarais and Theresa Plante. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 26, 2005 at 10 am in St. Agatha's Church, Joffre Ave. Woonsocket with inurnment immediately following in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Bellingham, Ma.
