Reva Sutherland -- Sun City, Ariz. -- Visitation for Reva J. Hebert Sutherland, 80, of Sun City, Ariz. and a former Kankakee area resident, will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, with a 7:45 p.m. wake service, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Maternity BVM Catholic Church, Bourbonnais. Her son, Rev. Daniel J. Hebert will officiate. Burial will be in Maternity Cemetery, Bourbonnais. Memorials may be made to Provena St. Mary's Hospital, Kankakee. She died Monday (Sept. 12, 2005) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital. Mrs. Sutherland was a registered nurse at St. Mary's Hospital and Manteno State Hospital. She was born March 17, 1925, in Joliet, the daughter of Robert S. and Rosa Schultz Ditzler. Her first husband, Joseph A. Hebert, whom she married Feb. 26, 1949 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Kankakee, died Dec. 2, 1993. She was a graduate of Shelbyville High School and St. Mary's School of Nursing. She was a member of St. Joachim and St. Ann Church in Sun City, Ariz. and St. Mary Nursing School Alumni. She was a former member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Kankakee. She enjoyed writing and flowers. Surviving are her husband, Carl Sutherland, whom she married May 5, 1996 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Kankakee; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Rev. Daniel J. Hebert of Anchorage, Alaska, Jerry and Cindy Hebert of Bradley; three daughters and sons-in-law, Lucille and Bill Etzel of Bourbonnais, Marilyn and Mark Gibson of Decatur, Alice and Kevin Simonds of Algonquin; one stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, John and Melinda Sutherland of Bonfield; two stepdaughters and stepsons-in-law, Karen and Greg Salisbury of St. Anne, Rose and Patrick O'Connor of Herscher; one brother and sister-in-law, Forrest S. and Betty Lou Ditzler of Bourbonnais; eight grandchildren, Stacey Helmig, Sarah Longtin, Kathryn Goodman, Andrew, Brian and Jessica Simonds, Jena and John Hebert; nine great-grandchildren, Dayne, Emma, Madelyn and Max Longtin, Isabella and Sophia Helmig, Curtis and Preston Goodman and Braeden Simonds; eight stepgrandchildren, Shawn and Keith Salisbury, Destini Hall, Damon and Tech. Sgt. Dustin Sutherland and Sean, Brandon and Shannon O'Connor; and nine stepgreat-grandchildren, Belinda, Matthew, Reagan and Tatum Hall and Lake, Caden, Brittany, Collin and Ryley Salisbury.
